AWS recently announced they launched a programme in UK called AWS re:Start. The aim of this program is to increase IT job placement and training. This is another example of how AWS are disrupting the IT industry globally.
One of the areas they are focussing on with AWS re:Start is re-training military vets and spouses. This goes to show that AWS are leading the pack in terms of innovation in not just how they grow their core business, but also how they are developing mindshare.
From the information provided on the AWS re:Start website it appears the key focus is on a training programme and then direct placement into either a consulting firm (QA Consulting) or working directly for one of AWS’ customers.
“The AWS re:Start training programme includes a 4-week FREE training course, delivered by QA. It is designed for people with no prior experience or training within any technology field, as well as those who have worked within a technology role previously.”
“After the training course, you will get a work-experience placement, based on merit, within one of the participating partners, to put the skills learned on the course into practice.”
